Age Matters Race Against Homelessness scheduled for 18 June

After much anticipation due to Age Matters will hold its important charity race day at Kembla Grange Racecourse on 18 June. All funds raised at the ‘Race Against Homelessness’ will help tackle the growing homeless crisis faced by disadvantaged older people in the Illawarra.

Older people are one of the fastest growing groups of people experiencing homelessness, and our local community is no exception.

It is a truly an issue that could affect any one of us, and a need that Age Matters addresses every day by helping older people in-need access housing and support services.

Last year, Age Matters helped 93 people facing homelessness through its Assistance with Care and Housing (ACH) Program and a further 55 individuals to access critical services to help them maintain their housing. Funds raised through the Race Day charity event assist with urgent costs such as support services, transport to assist moving into a home, and essential items such as bedding, appliances and basic supplies.

This key event on the racing calendar is expected to attract over 300 guests who will enjoy an afternoon of networking, socialising, great food and beverages, while raising vital funds to tackle the homelessness crisis in the Illawarra.

Buy a ticket, make a donation or gift an experience or prize for the event’s silent auction or raffle. Limited sponsorship opportunities are also available.
