IRT Group launches home care e-Commerce platform

IRT Group is trialling an innovative new on-demand service delivery platform for the booking and purchase of individual home care services online.

Gy Wallace, IRT’s Executive General Manager – Home Care said that by embracing new technology we are making it more convenient for seniors and their families to access the home care services we have been offering for the past 25 years.

“In an era of Consumer Directed Care, our new on-demand home care services platform is the next logical step in service delivery, using innovation to help seniors stay at home longer,” Gy said.

“We are delighted to be increasing the accessibility of our existing home care services by introducing this online platform.”

The home care platform also fills a gap in service provision for people in the waiting list for government funded home care, which has increased exponentially since in the introduction of Consumer Directed Care in 2015.

Gy explained that with no lock-in contracts and private payment up front, the home care platform can provide flexible home support, on demand when it is needed most.

“Our bespoke booking service offers an interim solution for those who urgently require home care,” he said.

“It is also perfect for family members who need help with respite for their ageing loved ones.”

The services available include home maintenance, gardening, cooking and cleaning, and personal care like grooming, bathing and showering, assistance with dressing, and manicure or pedicure treatments.

You can also request assistance with coordinating health management and wellbeing needs like regular fitness activities, physiotherapy and other allied health services.

Initially the platform will service the area from Helensburgh to Kiama, but may expand to cover all IRT’s operational regions depending on customer trends and needs.

“IRT’s mission has always been to create communities where seniors can achieve their optimum quality of life,” Mr Wallace said.
