About the course
This non-accredited short course is the perfect opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge with clients and residents who have Type 1 or Type 2 Diabetes. You will learn about what is diabetes, identification, blood glucose monitoring, insulin administration and emergency responses.
Learn new skills
During this course you will learn;
- What is diabetes?
- Complications of diabetes
- Diet for people with diabetes
- Identification & monitoring care needs
- Blood glucose monitoring
- Insulin administration by pen device
- Factors influencing insulin effects
- Emergency responses
Assessments
You will be assessed a number of ways. These methods may include:
- Short answer questions
- Simulations
- Role-plays
- Observation in the workplace.
