Make 'A Wise Move' into an IRT retirement village

IRT is proud to support the Retirement Living Council’s ‘A Wise Move’ campaign, which aims to increase awareness of the industry, by educating and sharing the benefits of retirement living.

Retirement villages are independent living communities made up of like-minded people over the age of 55. You live in your own home and enjoy the benefits of community living, such as:

  • Making new friends, and feeling safe and supported by your Lifestyle Manager and neighbours within your community
  • Community facilities that may include cafes, swimming pools, wellness centres, hairdressers, BBQ areas, libraries and gyms
  • Weekly activities such as movie nights, happy hour, exercise classes, bus outings and bingo
  • Access to allied health services and home care services, if you need them.

There is a lot to consider when planning your move into a retirement village. Choosing a location, researching costs and contracts and finding the features and on-site services that suit you all takes time. We’ve put together a 5-point checklist to help you make the right decision.

IRT can help you along your journey to find the right retirement village for you. Use our Location Finder to compare locations, features and services of our retirement villages, or compare costs throughout NSW, the ACT and Queensland with our Retirement Village Calculator
