Aged Care Planning Expo: Expert guidance to plan the aged care journey
An Aged Care Planning Expo will be held in Lidcombe on Wednesday 2 May 2018, presented by IRT Group. Leading industry experts will be on hand to provide information on transitioning to aged care and guidance on planning and preparation for their aged care journey.
“Planning for your future care or support needs, or those of a loved one, can be really confusing and scary,” says IRT Care CEO Jason Malone. “At the Aged Care Planning Expo experienced people will be on hand to assist by answering questions and providing expert information and advice.”
IRT Group will be just one of several experts at the Expo answering questions on a wide range of aged care planning questions.
The Department of Human Services and NSW Health will be on hand to provide information on Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT) assessments, home care and respite – three elements of the aged care system that are most commonly investigated on the My Aged Care website by seniors seeking information.
Owen Hodge Lawyers will attend to offer Assistance with Wills, Powers of Attorney and Appointments of Enduring Guardianship to ensure people have their affairs in order when they decide to enter residential care.
“A move to aged care is no different to any other change in circumstances,” says lawyer James Kelly from Owen Hodge Lawyers. “When you are planning for aged care, it is wise to review your estate
planning to make sure what has been put in place is still suitable.”
Affinity Aged Care Financial Services, specialists in aged care advice, will answer questions about the costs of residential aged care and the payment options available.
“The residential aged care system is complex, but it is flexible and can be navigated in a number of different ways,” says Donald Swanborough from Affinity Aged Care Financial Services.
“To help navigate the system, it is vital to seek specialist aged care financial advice and consider the options available before making a decision.”
IRT’s Illawarra Aged Care Planning Expo in April was a huge success. Now Lidcombe locals will have access to the same expert guidance, providing support as they embark on their aged care planning journey.
