Frequently asked questions

Students are required to complete online learning, theory/written assessments and workplace observation. Students are required to have access to a computer with internet connectivity. Students have a 16 week timeline to complete the course and need to devote approximately 2-4 hours of study per week.

This skill set is for individuals who hold a qualification at Certificate III level or higher in Community Services, Health or a related field, work in various care and support roles and who wish to develop skills in supporting people who require palliative care, within the delegations of an established individualised plan.

Enrolment into this course is at any time throughout the year.

This skill set has been endorsed by industry as suitable for individuals who hold a qualification at Certificate III level or higher in an area involving provision of direct client care or support.

This course is completed via a blend of online self-directed learning and practical assessment the workplace.  Regular virtual support sessions hosted by an IRT Academy Trainer will be available to students to access.

No formal work placement hours are required, however there is workplace assessment and you will need to have access to a suitable working environment.
