Frequently asked questions

Students are required to complete online learning, a theory assessment, workplace practice and workplace assessment. Students are required to have access to a computer with internet connectivity. Students have a 6 week timeline to complete the course and need to devote approximately 2 hours of study per week.

Students will also have access to regularly scheduled support sessions with a Trainer known as; virtual homework tables.

This course is suitable for individuals who hold a qualification at Certificate III level or higher in an area involving provision of direct client care or support who wish to develop skill the skills requirements to provide support to a person to self-administer medication.

Enrolment into this course is at any time throughout the year.

This skill set has been endorsed by industry as suitable for individuals who hold a qualification at Certificate III level or higher in an area involving provision of direct client care or support.

This skill set is completed via a blend of interactive online learning modules, simulation activities, as well as online and practical assessment in your workplace.

No formal work placement hours are required, however there is workplace assessment. This on-the-job/simulated (home care employees only) observation is completed by an approved, accredited IRT Academy trainer.
